Is my job covered

Workers in most workplaces in Ontario are covered by Ontario's Occupational Health and Safety Act. There are some exceptions with respect to private residences, certain farming operations, teachers and self-employed persons (e.g. see sections 3 and 4, OHSA).

Furthermore, workers in federal workplaces are covered under federal health and safety legislation. For more information contact Human Resources and Skills Development Canada.

If you're unsure if your job is covered by the Occupational Health and Safety Act, ask the Ministry of Labour online or call the Ministry of Labour Health & Safety Contact Centre.
